A 35 year old woman had a road traffic accident following which she developed severe neck pain and weakness in her hands and legs. She was unable to lift her hands and legs and was bed ridden.
X ray and MRI of her spine revealed that the upper two vertebrae (atlas and axis) were unstable and there was compression on the spinal cord.
